The Sea, Land, Air Analysis Group's mission is to deliver objective analyses, plans and strategies to US Navy, US Marine Corps, USAF, other DoD, and Australian Defence Force clients to support technology development, acquisition, delivery and sustainment decisions. The group provides the core of SPA thought leadership on Undersea Strategy, Software Development and Cost Estimating, with additional benchmark capabilities in AI/ML & Decision Analytics, Modeling and Simulation, and Future Force Assessments.

SPA has a need for a Senior Cloud Systems Architect to serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and overseeing complex cloud-based systems that support highly classified data environments. With extensive experience in large-scale IT operations and deep familiarity with secure, missioncritical architectures, this role leads the development of enterprise cloud frameworks, provides expert guidance to DevOps teams, and ensures solutions are engineered for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery. Operating with significant independence, the architect applies strong leadership, collaboration, and engineering judgment to drive cloud modernization efforts within a sensitive DoD environment.#FC #Dice   

Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Systems Architect will:  1) Lead the development of cloud architecture frameworks for systems processing highly classified data, 2) Provide technical leadership and best-practice guidance to cloudbased DevOps application teams, 3) Design and optimize applications for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery, 4) Apply deep engineering expertise to missioncritical programs with minimal supervision, and 5) Ensure architectural alignment with DoD requirements and classified environment constraints.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering and 20 years of relevant DoD experience, including 5 years in a DoD acquisition program as either a sub-system or system lead engineer within an ACAT 1 (or equivalent) special access program (SAP) program office
  • Ten years' experience in designing large and complex IT operations in large organizations, research environments, or production environments
  • Two years of DoD SAP engineering experience
  • Strong leadership and team building skills, able to collaborate effectively in groups of high-performing individuals
  • TS/SCI required to start, and it must be maintained throughout employment
