Manufacturing Automation Engineers
Develop, implement, test, and maintain automated machinery, processes, and control systems for the manufacturing environment. Gather requirements and create specifications for the design of automated control systems that meet functionality, cost, quality, safety, and time objectives. Assess effectiveness of automated testing protocols and systems. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and enhance automation equipment and systems. Requires a bachelor's degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, test, and maintain automated machinery, processes, and control systems for the manufacturing environment. Gather requirements and create specifications for the design of automated control systems that meet functionality, cost, quality, safety, and time objectives. Assess effectiveness of automated testing protocols and systems. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and enhance automation equipment and systems.
Requires specialized skill set to conduct highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Manufacturing Automation Engineer, IV: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Requires a bachelor's degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering. Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional.
