Job Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer III- IV you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team (architectural and engineering / internal and external)
  • Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
  • Assist the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
  • Master drawing organization format and company standards
  • Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
  • Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Electrical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited Institution
  • Minimum of 3.5 to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.
  • Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
  • Basic understanding of proper system selection
  • Basic knowledge of applicable codes
  • FE certification required
  • Experience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.
