As a Software Engineer at Superhuman, you will play a critical role in building core parts of the Superhuman product offering, infrastructure, and features to help 40 million users write more clearly and effectively every day. You'll have the opportunity to build and support experimentation frameworks and internal tools that directly impact our product roadmap and company growth.

Superhuman is growing rapidly. There are opportunities to join a team, learn from experienced peers, and build product offerings and teams from the ground up. Within our growing engineering organization, there is plenty of room for ownership and direct impact on users.
As an experimentation-focused Software Engineer, you will:
    • Support and evolve experimentation infrastructure to enable next-generation AI products and agentic workflows, enabling teams to measure complex user interactions and run effective experiments at scale.
    • Collaborate widely with internal teams to help define and measure quality in AI-driven experiences, partnering closely with Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver impactful product improvements.
    • Contribute to an engineering culture with a strong emphasis on documentation, testing, and user experience, while leveraging state-of-the-art AI tools and techniques to improve development velocity.
    • Evaluate existing systems and contribute to architectures that integrate experimentation with AI-driven evaluations, scaling infrastructure to support fast, reliable decision-making
    • Own changes across back-end and light front-end surfaces, enable product teams to successfully run experiments, andshare responsibility for on-callsupporting experimentation systems.
    Qualifications
    • Brings 5+ years of experience in Software Development with an emphasis on back-end engineering skills.
    • Displays excellent software engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
    • Is ready to tackle infrastructure challenges when needed.
    • Is comfortable working within existing systems and incrementally improving them over time.
    • Has experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale.
    • Demonstrates strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex or data-heavy systems, and perseverance when faced with tough technical issues.
    • Cares about the end user experience and strives to ensure high quality.
    • Prior experience in experimentation or internal tooling is preferred since this role supports other engineers.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-driven, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to operate with autonomy while seeking guidance as needed.
    • Open to learning and applying AI tools in day-to-day engineering work
    • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments
    • Has a passion for data, measurement, and experiment design, and is motivated to learn and apply these in practice.
