    Job description

    JOB TITLE: (P) Tool & Fixture Specialist
    LOCATION: Saint Louis, MO
    PAY RATE: $53.50/hour

    We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

    Job Details:

    Qualifying Questions:

    Summary: 

    • Performs setup, maintenance, inspection, and repair of tools; manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using precision machinery and hand tools.

    • Provides tooling support to internal teams; operates factory equipment, cranes, and industrial trucks; works at heights with fall protection.

    • Designs, tests, and demonstrates fabrication and assembly tools to ensure production of acceptable parts and assemblies.

    • Develop solutions for complex tool setup activities (alignment, leveling).

    • Perform visual inspections, make major repairs, and manufacture tools using manual and CNC machines.

    • Provide tooling support to other departments and coordinate problem resolution.

    • Design fabrication and assembly tools per engineering drawings or customer requests.

    • Demonstrate functionality of tools by producing first parts and resolve tool-related issues.

    • Reverse-engineer designs and fabrication processes as needed.

    • Work under general direction and mentor less experienced employees on complex tasks.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Must have relevant work experience

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Ability to work in a factory environment involving sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stair climbing, gripping, and operating hand/power tools.

    • Stand for extended periods and work in elevated or confined spaces as needed.

    • Lift up to 35 lbs independently; occasional two-person lift for heavier items.

    • Frequent overhead reaching, walking on flat surfaces, standing on flat or uneven surfaces, and balancing on ladders or steps.

    • Occasional climbing on 3–12 ft ladders or stands.

    • Rotate head/neck, crawl, squat, bend/stoop, lie down, and operate foot controls.

    • Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials; occasional contact with metals, plastics, sealants, and solvents.

    • Exposure to noise, elevated platforms, and atmospheric conditions.

    • Occasional finger manipulation (1–3 hrs/day).
