JOB TITLE: (P) Aviation Circuit Board Soldering Technician

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

• Performs soldering including both through-hole and surface-mount techniques while adhering to J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.

• Carries out PCBA rework, component replacement, and troubleshooting on circuit boards.

• Identifies and corrects solder defects, damaged traces, and other issues in accordance with established rework procedures.

• Performs assembly, tear-downs, inspections, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical components and other Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).

• Reads and understands manufacturing blueprints, wire diagrams, planning documents, and test specifications.

• Uses hand tools including calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, and multimeters for testing and assembly of PMA parts.

• Initiates and documents nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

• Applies J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 industry standards in all soldering and assembly tasks.

• Performs assembly, inspection, and testing functions in an aviation production environment.

• Assists with other functions of manufacturing aircraft parts as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• 4+ years of experience in an aviation production environment.

• Certification in J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 or equivalent industry standards with demonstrated familiarity in applying these standards.

• Experience with assembly instructions, blueprint reading, and other technical specifications.

• Basic computer skills including Windows, MacOS, Excel, and Gmail.

• Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as needed.

• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Preferred: 6+ years of experience in an aviation production environment.

• Preferred: Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) process.

• Preferred: Experience working in a startup environment.
