Job description

Take advantage of a rare opportunity to start from the ground up and build something new and original.  At Stellantis we are breaking with the past and launching a new software organization built from the ground up.  The Stellantis Software Organization (SWx) has been established in 2021 with an entirely new vision for the driver experience, and our mission to build the most captivating experiences in the latest frontier of Automotive Technology.  We are seeking technology game changers to lead the digital transformation to this new world of automotive technology with a focus on the customer experience.

As a member of the SWX Basic Software Organization at Stellantis, the candidate will be responsible for the development & integration of the embedded software running on the target platforms for various domains like SAE Level 2, 3 automated driving features, In-vehicle Infotainment, instrument clusters, etc. The primary duties will include the development of base-level software layers, integration with functional safety principles, configuring and developing middleware such as AUTOSAR, design and implement software architecture (SysML and ARXML) for high-end performance ECUs. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of modern safety critical electronic control units embedded software development, functional safety, cybersecurity and possess an interest in state-of-the-art automated driving compute platforms and emerging computational technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of overall experience including a minimum of 3 years of embedded software development experience in C/C++, and/or other high-level programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with AUTOSAR configuration and integration toolchain (Vector DaVinci, Electrobit Tresos, ETAS ISOLAR) and compilers (TASKING, Hightec)
  • Experience with SysML model development tools (PREEVision, DaVinci Configurator pro)
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR (Classic & Adaptive) concepts, architecture, specifications, and configuration tools
  • Experience in Integration of AUTOSAR BSW stack (basic software), AUTOSAR RTE (Run-time environment) with the Application Layer
  • Experience with SW integration & configuration tools (e.g., Emulators, Debuggers, CANoe/CANalyzer)
  • Experience with automated build and test automation systems
  • Ability to interface with Tier I and Tier II automotive suppliers and partners
  • Experience working with continuous integration systems and ALM tools and script automation
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting embedded software on target hardware
  • Experience in developing SWE.5 test cases based on feature requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, SPI, Ethernet communications protocol
  • Experience working in ADAS/AD/IVI/Telematics domains as a software developer/architect
  • Professional development experience using QNX Neutrino or Green Hills Integrity or Embedded Linux or equivalent RTOS
  • Familiarity using trace capture tools & debuggers (Lauterbach)
  • Team player, self-motivated and drive for results
  • Travel including international up to 20%
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interface with Algorithm developers, vehicle integration and validation engineering organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum software development process
  • Experience in Integrating Bootloaders (platform configurations – MPU and MCU), Embedded OS, OSEK, RTOS and BSP development
  • Experience with UDS, XCP and Instrumented Embedded Control Units
  • Experience with Ethernet networking protocols such as 802.3, 802.1AS, TSN, and requisite transport layer formats
  • Experience with industry cryptographic protocols, key handling, chain of trust processing, and anti-spoofing techniques
  • Experience integrating Tier I-II BSW, feature software, and automotive build/parse software into primary domain controller 
  • Experience working with Tri-Core architecture micro-controllers and high-end performance microprocessors
  • Experience with platform services like power management, state management, health management (watchdogs, power health monitoring), and reset handlers
  • A working knowledge of SOME/IP, DDS or equivalent message passing protocol
  • Understanding of ADAS software fundamentals
  • Experience in developing safety critical embedded software functions within an IEC-61508, ISO-26262 or DO-178B development environment
  • Experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity features within an ISO-21434 development environment
  • Experience with authoring ASIL compliant software code and use of functional safety code analysis tools
  • Experience with ARXML or equivalent embedded interface file generation
  • Familiarity of Automotive Product Development Process like ASPICE, V-model
  • Experience with power management, board diagnostics, fault management or failure modes
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and experience in board bring-up
