Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Crane Team Leader works closely with the Crane Maintenance Planner and with Crane Technicians to manage crane maintenance and repairs throughout the facility. This role requires a strong commitment to crane reliability, workplace safety, and timely execution of maintenance tasks.
Main Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Coordinate with the Crane Maintenance Planner to develop detailed job plans for crane maintenance activities, including personnel, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Help prioritize tasks based on safety, production impact, and equipment criticality.
- Assign tasks and maintain clear communication with team members.
- Help manage preventive/predictive maintenance schedules using Maintenance Connection.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance history, equipment reliability and work order status.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, SSAB company policies, and environmental policies.
- Complete required training within designated timeframes and attend all required meetings.
- Understand and support the company's goals and values and adhere to company, department, safety, quality, environmental, and ethics policies and procedures.
About You / QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial crane maintenance.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and crane safety standards.
- Ability to prioritize and assign tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication, collaboration, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Technical training or associate degree in mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC's and automated control systems.
- Electrical and/or mechanical background with knowledge of motor controls, etc.
- Machining or welding experience.
