Description
Occupational Summary: Lead a small team of approximately five engineers and CAD designers in General/Physical Layout and Protection & Control aspects of substation design projects. The candidate will serve as the sealing engineer for most of the team's work and will also manage customer relations and business development with select clients. This position reports to the Divisional Manager.

Requirements
Position requirements include:

  • Supervise and schedule the work of engineers, designers, and CAD operators on the assigned team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing existing projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and overseeing future business and upcoming project plans.
  • Proficiency in various areas of substation engineering, including physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, and relay testing.
  • Perform and direct project design tasks, including engineering calculations, using computer design software, and referencing relevant engineering procedures and design manuals.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of complex project documents, including specifications and bid documents.
  • Conduct and direct detailed drawing reviews, ensuring that full plan sets clearly, concisely, and thoroughly represent the design intent.
  • Supervise work and assist in training division Project Engineers I and II.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Over eight years of relevant experience required.
