STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Quality Supervisor to join the team. This position directs and coordinates quality designated personnel including, but not limited to, Inspection, Designated Quality Representatives (DSQRs), FAIR Action Support Team (FAST) and NDT (X-Ray and FPI) Technicians.  As well as Supporting and Collaborating with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering by identifying process improvement opportunities and continuous Improvement activities to meet customer demand. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs and prioritizes team priorities to meet customer and internal requirements relative to product quality and production demand.
  • Interprets quality philosophy and vision to personnel in organization.
  • Reviews quality problems with engineering personnel and directs and facilitates action required to correct defects.
  • Documents and facilitates training for associates.
  • Leads team in continuous improvement activities, including Lean and 5s.
  • Communicates team performance to customer and business expectations using select KPIs.
  • Prepares periodic and special reports concerning team activities and problems.
  • Aids in organizational planning by participating in departmental conferences.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Helps investigate and address customer complaints regarding quality issues and requirements.
  • Facilitates QMS maintenance, updates and implementation of changes and improvements, based on team activities and responsibilities.
  • Trains team members on safety rules and enforce safe behaviors.  Conducts safety meetings, safety observations, safety leadership tours, and incident investigations to ensure a culture of zero harm.
  • Upholds Smiths Leadership Behaviors and Organizational Values of Passion, Integrity, Respect, Ownership, Customer Focus, & Ethics.
  • Quality of work: Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, bias for action, and makes and keeps commitments.
  • Results and action oriented.  Supervises to meet productivity standards.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: College or University program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
