- Inspection amp; Testing:
- Assist in the inspection and testing of fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, and notification devices, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
- Participate in the inspection and testing of sprinkler systems, including valves, pumps, and sprinkler heads, documenting findings and reporting discrepancies.
- Use specialized tools and equipment to conduct performance tests and troubleshoot system issues.
- Maintenance amp; Repairs:
- Support the maintenance and repair of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, including replacing components and making necessary adjustments to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing system malfunctions, under the guidance of senior technicians, ensuring systems are restored to full functionality.
- Documentation amp; Reporting:
- Complete inspection reports, detailing system status, deficiencies, and any corrective actions taken.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and repairs, ensuring documentation meets industry standards and company policies.
- Training amp; Development:
- Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills in fire protection systems, including manufacturer-specific training and certification courses.
- Shadow senior technicians during complex inspections and repairs to gain practical experience and knowledge.
- Compliance amp; Safety:
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical installation, low voltage, and repair.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
- Must be able to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at various heights.
- Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments as needed.
- Requires occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
- Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
- Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
