Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer. In this position, you will be responsible for designing layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and creating hydraulic calculations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program designed to develop industry knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Complete the company Design Academy within the first six months of employment, receiving extensive instruction in fire protection design principles and industry best practices.
  • Design and develop fire sprinkler system layouts using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and Revit software.
  • Assist with project management activities, including coordination with contractors, engineers, and other trade partners.
  • Apply mathematical and engineering concepts to perform hydraulic calculations and analyze project costs.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Create and maintain Building Information Modeling (BIM) designs and conduct field surveys to support project execution.
  • Generate fabrication material lists and coordinate system requirements with multiple trades.
  • Other duties assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Examples include:  Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees
  • Excellent communication skills for project management
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Reliable vehicle to travel to local job sites as needed.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
