Now Hiring: Maintenance Supervisor ~ Affordable Living 190-unit Apartment Complex

Location: Monroe, Michigan
Status: Full time 7:30a - 4:00p
Pay: $27.50 per hour

Samaritas is looking for a maintenance leader who supports strong communities. Help keep our Affordable Housing Community clean and a well-maintained place to call home. Our hands-on Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance of our building and grounds ensuring compliance with Samaritas licensing and regulatory housing requirements. A key component to this role is researching and presenting maintenance bids to Affordable Living management.

As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will be computer literate, with experience with property management and payroll software (Yardi, Onesite, UltiPro/UKG, Workforce Management). This team member will be professional and empathetic when interacting with our residents, staff and contractors. From supervising staff to managing vendors and large-scale repairs, your work will directly impact the quality of life for the community you serve. The hourly wage for this integral team member is $27.50.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and support maintenance staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Delegate work, set priorities, and ensure accountability across the team
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and service

Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee all building and grounds maintenance, including preventative and emergency repairs
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality and safety

Project & Vendor Management

  • Source and present bids for large maintenance projects
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors to ensure timely and quality work
  • Manage maintenance schedules and high-priority work orders

Facilities & Safety Oversight

  • Maintain systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements
  • Oversee groundskeeping, snow removal, and general property upkeep
  • Support fire safety, security, and loss prevention programs

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally with property management and other teams
  • Ensure clear communication on maintenance needs, timelines, and updates
  • Maintain on-call availability for emergency maintenance needs

What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Advanced training in maintenance, mechanical systems, or related trades preferred
  • 3+ years of building maintenance experience
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Experience sourcing and managing contractor bids
  • Proficiency with property management and workforce systems (Yardi, Onesite, UKG/UltiPro, etc.)
