We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join a growing team in Illinois in a Contract to Permanent position. This role centers on delivering responsive support, strengthening customer relationships, and helping internal teams provide a smooth order and service experience. The ideal candidate is organized, service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while communicating clearly with customers and cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities:
• Provide timely, thoughtful support to customers and internal partners by investigating questions, resolving concerns, and offering practical solutions.
• Build positive working relationships with customers through clear, attentive communication and consistent follow-through across phone and email interactions.
• Maintain accurate, well-documented records of customer conversations, service requests, and resolutions within the company database.
• Process customer orders by reviewing incoming requests for completeness and entering details into the order management system with a high level of accuracy.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, and finance teams to share updates, clarify needs, and keep customer activities moving forward efficiently.
• Arrange outbound shipments and inbound returns through logistics systems while preparing required shipping documentation and related paperwork.
• Review buyback information, confirm final results, and communicate applicable credits or totals to customers clearly and effectively.
• Partner with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to support timely customer payments and address outstanding account balances when needed.
• Follow written and verbal procedures carefully while adapting to changing priorities and maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Travel up to 10% as needed to support business and customer service needs.
The salary range for this position is $20 to $22/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. • Associate degree or comparable relevant experience required; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust messaging for different audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build customer trust, manage relationships effectively, and deliver a high level of service.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving setting with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with experience using order entry, call center, or ERP platforms such as D365.
• Experience handling inbound and outbound customer calls, order entry, and issue resolution in a structured service environment.
