Right At School provides Before & After School, Summer Camp, and Break Camp programs at 1,200+ schools across the country. Our programs deliver hands-on enrichment activities, homework support, active play, social-emotional learning, and more - all guided by a mission to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind.
As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids - leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships - while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

In short, your influence will shape kids' futures, helping them develop the skills they need to thrive in school, at home, and beyond.



Pay Rate: $14-$17 per hour (based on education and experience)

Program Hours: After School: 2:45 PM-6:30 PM (may vary slightly). Unable to accommodate partial work week shifts at this time, Monday through Friday is required.

Location: Located inside the Alamo Heights area schools

Schedule: Part-time; hours may include before school, after school, recess care, and/or full-day care during breaks, depending on site needs.



Texas State Requirements

* High School Diploma/GED

* 18 years of age

* Six months of previous experience in childcare in a group licensed childcare setting or school-type setting (will require verification).

* Live within the listed school district area

* Fluent in English and Bilingual is a plus



What You'll Do

  • Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
  • Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
  • Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
  • Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
  • Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
  • Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day
  • Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
  • Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
  • Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We're Looking For

  • At least six months of experience working with children under 13 (preferred) in a licensed childcare center or school setting
  • Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
  • Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Ideal Candidates will have the following:
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills
  • High School Diploma/GED and 18 years of age or older
  • Works well in a team environment
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age (not required)
