Job Summary:
We are seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join our renowned Heart Center team at Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. This role specializes in pediatric congenital heart scanning, working with state-of-the-art imaging technology to provide critical diagnostic services for patients in NICU, PICU, CVOR, and Pediatric Cath Labs. The position requires pediatric echocardiography experience and a recognized sonography certification (RCS, RCCS, RDCS, or RDCS PE).
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pediatric echocardiograms on congenital patients, ensuring high-quality imaging and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists and critical care teams to provide real-time imaging support.
  • Scan patients in inpatient units (NICU, PICU), CVOR, and Pediatric Cath Labs, as well as outpatient clinics across the Houston area.
  • Analyze patient medical records to gather relevant history and provide preliminary diagnostic findings to cardiologists.
  • Maintain compliance with IAC protocols and lab guidelines, performing measurements and calculations as required.
  • Train and mentor new sonographers and assist cardiology fellows with procedures.
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance for optimal imaging results.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and staff education programs.
  • Adhere to Memorial Hermann's service standards, promoting a compassionate and patient-centered care environment.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited sonography program.
Must hold at least one of the following credentials:
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    Specialized experience in pediatric echocardiography (New grads or candidates without pediatric scanning experience will not be considered).
Preferred Qualifications:
BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Experience with Philips IE33 and GE ultrasound systems.
Knowledge of congenital heart defects and complex post-surgical cardiac anatomy.
