About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Echo Technologist to join a nationally recognized pediatric cardiology program in the heart of Houston. This role is specialized in congenital cardiac ultrasound and plays a critical part in supporting high-acuity patients across NICU, PICU, CVOR, and pediatric cardiac cath labs. What Youll Do:
- Perform high-quality pediatric echocardiograms for congenital heart disease patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Work closely with pediatric cardiologists and critical care teams to provide real-time cardiac imaging for procedures and acute care situations.
- Provide imaging support in NICU, PICU, CVOR, pediatric cath labs, and various outpatient clinics in the Houston area.
- Review medical records, identify relevant clinical information, and communicate preliminary findings to the cardiology team.
- Maintain compliance with IAC protocols and department standards for imaging quality and documentation.
- Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring of new sonographers and cardiology fellows.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment and support quality assurance initiatives.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and staff education projects within the echo lab.
Qualifications Must Have: - Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
- Registered in Cardiac Sonography by one of the following:
- RDCS (PE) ARDMS
- RCS CCI
- RCCS CCI
- Minimum 12 years of hands-on pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Strong knowledge of congenital cardiac anatomy and post-operative cardiac anatomy.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% within the greater Houston area.
Preferred Qualifications: - BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Experience with Philips IE33 and GE ultrasound systems
- Familiarity with IAC accreditation and reporting standards
- Prior experience in teaching hospitals or complex congenital care settings
