Are you a passionate, motivated Software Developer interested in a rewarding career in the Defense Industry?  We are looking for a Software Engineer I with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at El Segundo, CA.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.

  • Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.

  • Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.

  • Understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.

  • Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance

  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.

  • Experience with version control tools such as Git.

  • Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.

  • Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.

  • Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

  • Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
