    Job description

    Job Requirements
Quest Global delivers world-class end-to-end engineering solutions by leveraging our deep industry knowledge and digital expertise. By bringing together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals and their areas of expertise, we are able to solve problems better, faster. This multi-dimensional approach enables us to solve the most critical and large-scale challenges across the aerospace & defense, automotive, energy, hi-tech, healthcare, medical devices, rail and semiconductor industries.
We are looking for humble geniuses, who believe that engineering has the potential to make the impossible possible; innovators, who are not only inspired by technology and innovation, but also perpetually driven to design, develop, and test as a trusted partner for Fortune 500 customers. As a team of remarkably diverse engineers, we recognize that what we are really engineering is a brighter future for us all. If you want to contribute to meaningful work and be part of an organization that truly believes when you win, we all win, and when you fail, we all learn, then we're eager to hear from you. The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills
    Who We Are
Quest Global's Nuclear Alliance exists for a single purpose: to support, sustain, and expand nuclear power generation as a cornerstone of the world's clean energy future.
We design, deliver, and support the control systems that keep nuclear plants operating safely and continuously. These systems are deployed across the global fleet, and the engineers behind them carry real responsibility-for plant performance, operator safety, and outcomes that must be correct every time.
Within the Nuclear Alliance, engineering is not a collection of tasks. It is a disciplined, traceable system of record-where requirements, design decisions, validation, implementation, and support are fully aligned under configuration control.
If it cannot be traced, justified, and reproduced, it does not exist.
Scaling that capability requires more than tools.
It requires engineers who can transfer knowledge, build judgment, and enable others to execute correctly under real conditions.
    The Role
We are seeking an MKVIe Control System Technical Trainer to build engineering capability across the Nuclear Alliance.
    This role is responsible for:
    • developing engineers-not just delivering training
    • translating complex system knowledge into practical execution
    • accelerating how quickly engineers can operate effectively and independently

    You will bridge:
    • system knowledge and field application
    • individual learning and organizational performance

This role is a force multiplier.
The quality of training directly determines the quality of engineering execution.
    What You Will Do
    Hands-On Capability Building (Core Focus)
    • Design and deliver hands-on training that reflects real engineering and field scenarios
    • Guide engineers through:
    • control logic development and modification
    • troubleshooting and diagnostics
    • alarm management and system behavior
    • Ensure engineers can apply knowledge-not just understand it

    Curriculum Development
    • Develop and maintain structured training programs covering:
    • MKVIe architecture and hardware
    • ToolboxST, WorkstationST, and engineering workflows
    • system-level understanding for Gas Power and Nuclear applications
    • Capture and institutionalize:
    • lessons learned
    • best practices
    • proven field techniques

    Instruction & Delivery
    • Lead instructor-led training (in-person and virtual)
    • Structure sessions to balance:
    • theory
    • demonstration
    • applied execution
    • Adapt teaching approach based on experience level while maintaining standards

    Assessment & Readiness
    • Develop and administer technical assessments focused on applied capability
    • Evaluate whether engineers can perform-not just recall
    • Identify gaps and adjust training accordingly

    Mentorship & Learning Acceleration
    • Support engineers beyond formal training through guidance and coaching
    • Identify recurring failure points and address them systematically
    • Continuously improve how knowledge is transferred and retained

    Continuous Improvement
    • Stay current with system updates, firmware changes, and cybersecurity requirements
    • Incorporate real-world feedback into training
    • Improve training effectiveness based on field outcomes and engineering performance

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 10+ years of hands-on experience with GE Mark VIe control systems
    • Experience in commissioning, maintaining, or engineering turbine or plant control systems
    • Strong working knowledge of:
    • ToolboxST
    • Cimplicity HMI
    • control system networking fundamentals
    • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
    • Experience troubleshooting control systems in operational environments
    • Strong communication and facilitation skills
    • U.S. citizenship required (export control)

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience developing or delivering technical training programs
    • Familiarity with Mark VIeS (Safety) systems and SIL concepts
    • Experience with ControlST upgrades and legacy migrations
    • Experience across both Gas Power and Nuclear applications
    • Experience designing lab environments or structured learning programs

    What We Are Looking For
Technical expertise matters-but for this role, it is not enough.
We are looking for engineers who are motivated to build capability in others.
    We want individuals who:
    • are energized by teaching and developing others
    • take pride in making complex systems understandable and usable
    • proactively improve how engineers learn and apply knowledge
    • recognize that training is not content delivery-it is capability creation

We also expect alignment with Nuclear Alliance principles:
    • Safety is not a shifting priority-it is the constraint that defines the work
    • Precision matters more than opinion; evidence matters more than assumption
    • If knowledge cannot be applied correctly, it has no value
    • Discipline in training enables discipline in execution

    Characteristics of a Strong Candidate
    • Demonstrates genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring
    • Breaks down complex systems into structured, actionable understanding
    • Builds learning experiences that translate into real-world capability
    • Identifies and closes knowledge gaps proactively
    • Reinforces disciplined engineering practices through training
    • Continuously improves how knowledge is transferred and retained
    • Balances technical depth with clarity and practicality

    Why This Role Matters
The Nuclear Alliance does not scale through hiring alone.
    It scales through capability.
    This role directly impacts:
    • how quickly engineers become effective
    • how consistently systems are implemented
    • how reliably engineering work is executed

This is not a support role.
It is a defining function in how the Alliance performs.
    Additional Information
    • Location: Greenville, SC | Schenectady, NY | Remote (U.S.)
    • Travel: May be required for training delivery and team engagement
    • Work Environment: Mix of virtual, classroom, and hands-on lab environments
    • U.S. citizenship required

    Pay Range: $80000 - $90000/Annum.
