Android Software Engineer


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Android Software Engineer for a contract opportunity in Santa Clara, CA.ย 


Android Software Engineer Job Details


We are looking for a candidate to perform the role of Android developer for the final phase of Android application delivery: rapidly translate product requirements to implementation strategy and plan, work with peer Android software engineers for evaluating current implementation, enhance the existing Android implementation with customer-specific new features, optimize mobile solutions for security, performance and application scalability, and technically collaborate with other developers to ensure the coherence of our system software strategies across our wearable device products.ย 


Android Software Engineer Mandatory Skills


Must be well versed and hands on with the latest Android SDK, have good command of Java 8, strong in object oriented design and patterns, familiar with common Android coding practice & UI look & feel, participating in code reviews, as well as working with the cross groups in launching the final Android software products.ย 


Minimum Skills and Experience Required:ย 

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related fieldsย 

5+ years of experience in a technical roleย 

3-year experience with creation and maintenance of the overall mobile application architecture for Android devicesย 

3-year experience of Android SW development cycle: scoping, planning, design, implementation, deployment and maintenanceย 

1-year experience with Android application styles, coding standards and Google's recommended user interface guidelinesย 

1-year experience in Android application functionality and limitations, as well as concurrency issuesย 

1-year experience with Security APIs and Android security features?ย 

2-year experience of unit testing, automated testing and debugging of mobile appsย 


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of at least one server side technology (Node.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, etc.)ย 

Experience with development tools: Git, continuous integration, dependency managementย 

Familiar with Agile Scrum development processย 

Able to show a portfolio of compelling Android mobile applications from past projectsย 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsย 

Able to work well individually as well as in a highly collaborative teamย 

Demonstrated interest in learning new technologies in wearable computing.
