Responsibilities
The Custodian is part of the Maintenance Team. This is a full-time non-exempt position and will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
Clean building floors by means of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
Gather and empty trash and recycle regularly.
Service, clean and supply restrooms and kitchen areas
Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators
Clean, polish and dust furniture and fixtures
Wash accessible interior windows.
Always use proper Personal Protective Equipment.
Notify manager of the need for repairs
Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
Adhere to ISO process flows.
Attend and participate in all required training and meetings.
Maintain a neat, clean and safe work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 3-5 years' janitorial experience is required.
- Ability to mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- Must have sufficient written and oral communication, math and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Compensation
This position is full-time, salary, exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
