    Pratt & Whitney is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer – Technical Publications to support the digital technical publications ecosystem for Pratt & Whitney's commercial engine programs. In this role, you will bridge software engineering, technical publications, business analysis, and project leadership to modernize, automate, and support systems that manage and distribute aircraft maintenance data. You will collaborate with customers, partners, software engineers, IT teams, and third-party software providers within the Commercial Engine Engineering Maintenance Data and Services Engineering (CEE MDSE) organization to support existing technical publications systems, expand publishing automation, and deliver new solutions that address the evolving maintenance data needs of legacy and GTF programs.

    What You Will Do:

    • Support the delivery of XML/SGML technical data to airframers, airlines, and MRO organizations, enabling a seamless digital data thread and supporting technical publications authoring and digital data distribution systems.
    • Collaborate with CEE MDSE software engineers, IT teams, and third-party software providers to provide technical support for change management, content management, publishing, reporting, analytics, and related technical publications systems.
    • Design, develop, integrate, and implement new systems and enhancements that support business objectives, improve the digital publications experience for customers, and expand automation capabilities.
    • Develop and manage project plans and business processes for technical publications system changes, including requirements definition, risk and dependency management, project execution, and continuous improvement of the CEE MDSE digital data thread.
    • Participate in all phases of the systems development lifecycle, including scoping, requirements definition, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support; monitor active projects to ensure successful execution.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues within MDSE systems, perform root-cause analysis, implement sustainable solutions, and contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the MDSE Strategic Technology Plan.

    • Build expertise in the systems, technologies, and processes used to create, manage, publish, and distribute aircraft maintenance data across the commercial aviation ecosystem.
    • Develop hands-on knowledge of XML/SGML-based technical data and industry standards such as ATA iSpec 2200 and S1000D.
    • Expand your ability to design, integrate, enhance, and automate complex enterprise systems that support critical engineering and customer-facing processes.
    • Strengthen your ability to translate business and customer needs into technical requirements, solutions, and processes while working across engineering, IT, business, and external partner teams.
    • Gain experience leading technology initiatives across the full systems development lifecycle, from scoping and requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
    • Develop a broader understanding of how Pratt & Whitney's digital maintenance data and technical publications systems support legacy and GTF engine programs, airframers, airlines, and MRO organizations.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Technical Communications, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes systems engineering, information technology, software/application development, systems integration, or technical publications.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    • Experience with XML/SGML-based technical publications or digital maintenance data, ATA iSpec 2200 and/or S1000D, and technical publications authoring, content management, publishing, or digital data distribution systems.
    • Experience with systems integration, application support, and complex technical environments, preferably within aerospace, aviation, MRO, or engineering organizations.
    • Experience with SQL and relational databases, including Oracle and PL/SQL.
    • Experience with XSL/XSLT, HTML, or IETP development and related digital technical publications technologies.
    • Python development or scripting experience and familiarity with Jenkins or CI/CD automation.
    • Experience working with customers, vendors, partners, and cross-functional technical teams, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.

    Department/Segment Overview:

    Commercial Engine Engineering Maintenance Data and Services Engineering (CEE MDSE). The CEE MDSE team is responsible for providing system support services related to the creation and sustainment of technical publications for Pratt & Whitney commercial engines. The team has responsibility for software application support and development, system requirement definition, publishing of content, and digital data deliveries for the Maintenance Data and Services Engineering (MDSE) organization. The team plays a critical role in ensuring the organization has the proper tools and applications in place to meet program milestones and delivery requirements. The technical publication products produced by the MDSE organization are used by over 2,000 global airline customers, Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) shops and aircraft manufacturer to maintain, overhaul, and repair engines on-wing and in a shop environment.

    • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
