    Tool Maker - Byron Center Area

    Tool Maker | Byron Center, MI

    Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

We are collaborating with leading companies in Byron Center seeking experienced Tool Makers to drive results.

    The Opportunity

    We are partnering with organizations in Byron Center that are seeking Tool Makers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively.     Key Responsibilities

    • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
    • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
    • Fabricate, repair, and modify precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
    • Perform close tolerance machining operations, often to within thousands of an inch.
    • Select appropriate materials and heat treat tools to achieve desired hardness and durability.
    • Inspect finished tools for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tool performance and manufacturing processes.
    • Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and accuracy.

    Recommended Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
    • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials
    • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
    • Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and programming
