Job Description: CNC Mill Programmer | Allendale, MI Salary Range: $53,000 - $87,000 depending on experience Are you a meticulous professional with a passion for excelling in cnc mill programmer? The Pivot Group Network, a West Michigan manufacturing-focused recruiting group, is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships and supporting career growth. We are collaborating with companies in Allendale seeking experienced CNC Mill Programmers. If there is alignment now or in the near future, we reach out. The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Allendale seeking CNC Mill Programmers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop CNC programs for 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
  • Optimize programs for efficiency, cycle time reduction, and part quality.
  • Perform post-processing of CAM data and generate setup sheets.
  • Troubleshoot and debug programs on the machine tool.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure manufacturability.
  • Maintain and update a library of CNC programs and tooling data.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with tool selection, cutting parameters, and fixture design for efficient machining.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize programs for cycle time reduction and surface finish improvement.
  • Knowledge of various materials (metals, plastics) and their machining characteristics.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with 5-axis programming.
  • Familiarity with a variety of CAM software beyond the primary system used.
  • Background in hands-on machining or tool and die making.
  • Ability to perform basic G-code editing at the machine control.
