Associate Attorney – Labor & Employment (Litigation)

Position Overview

A global law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its Phoenix office. This is a litigation-focused role offering significant responsibility and hands-on experience in complex employment matters, including class actions and restrictive covenant disputes. The position is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful courtroom exposure and the opportunity to develop trial skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage responsibilities independently
  • Litigation experience, including day-to-day responsibility on active cases (employment litigation experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong academic credentials and professional references
  • Member of the Arizona State Bar, or willing to obtain admission promptly

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with employment-related litigation, including:
    • Employment class actions
    • Trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including:
    • Title VII
    • ADA
    • ADEA
    • FMLA

Responsibilities

  • Handle labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare witnesses and conduct witness interviews
  • Draft and respond to written discovery
  • Write persuasive motions and briefs
  • Appear at hearings and court proceedings
  • Work closely with partners on litigation strategy and case management
