THE ROLE
Job Location:
The organization operates on an in-office work schedule. This position is based in our main office in Fairfax, VA.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in overseeing the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank
reconciliations, and payroll.

Enhances employee skill development through counseling and training
Essential Functions:
Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Manages 120 + employee payroll in QuickBooks to a high degree of accuracy and compliance
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Education/Experience:
3 - 5 years or more of related professional experience required.
Additional Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function in QuickBooks including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with QuickBooks payroll software.
