    Heavy Duty Journeyman Service Technician

    Location: Windsor, California

    Pay: $35.00 – $60.00/hour, based on experience

    Schedule: Full-Time

    The Opportunity

    We are looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Journeyman Service Technician to join a professional heavy-duty truck service team in Windsor, CA.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled diesel technician who is confident with diagnostics, electrical systems, aftertreatment systems, and major truck repairs. You'll work on heavy-duty commercial trucks in a busy service environment with ongoing technical training and opportunities to continue developing your skills.

    Technicians with Peterbilt/PACCAR and Cummins experience are especially encouraged to apply.

    Compensation

    $35.00 – $60.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, diagnostic ability, and overall technical skill level.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and aftertreatment issues on heavy-duty diesel trucks
    • Troubleshoot customer concerns and develop effective repair strategies
    • Perform general and advanced repairs, including brakes, clutches, oil services, electrical systems, and engine-related work
    • Diagnose and repair emissions and aftertreatment systems
    • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
    • Road test vehicles when qualified and properly licensed
    • Document repairs accurately and completely
    • Identify additional repairs or safety concerns and communicate them to the service team
    • Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts, and Service Management
    • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area
    • Properly handle warranty components and cores
    • Participate in ongoing manufacturer and technical training
    • Maintain required certifications
    • Follow all applicable OSHA and workplace safety procedures

    What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years of heavy-duty diesel truck or equipment repair experience
    • PACCAR and/or Cummins certification preferred
    • Strong heavy-duty diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience with electrical diagnostics
    • Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel aftertreatment/emissions systems
    • Experience with brakes, clutches, preventive maintenance, oil services, and general truck repairs
    • Ability to independently diagnose and complete repairs
    • Current driver's license with a clean driving record
    • CDL is an asset
    • Ability to provide and maintain a full set of hand and air tools
    • Strong attention to quality, safety, and productivity

    Physical Requirements

    The position involves regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working around heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.

    Technicians must be comfortable lifting and handling parts weighing up to approximately 50 lbs individually and occasionally participating in team lifts of heavier components.
