Global Disaster Relief - Dallas / Fort Worth, TX
Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking a highly organized Manager of Logistics to plan, coordinate, and manage logistics operations supporting Global Disaster Response (GDR). This role partners closely with GDR leadership and cross-functional teams to oversee the storage, movement, tracking, and distribution of disaster relief supplies and equipment, ensuring resources are delivered efficiently, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. This position also serves in a planning and technical advisory capacity within the GDR Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during disaster responses. Serving in this role supports effective disaster relief operations and advances OB's Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ's name to meet both physical and spiritual needs.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics or logistics management, preferably in disaster response, humanitarian aid, or complex operational environments
  • Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS); applicable qualifications and planning certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of emergency management and disaster response planning principles and techniques
  • Strong project management, planning, and analytical skills, with the ability to research and assess logistics requirements effectively
  • Ability and willingness to deploy during disaster relief operations to support field-level logistics functions
  • Skilled in analyzing operational and logistics data to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Adaptable and able to meet deadlines under pressure in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint; experience with inventory management systems (IMS) preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional rapport with all levels of management, staff, volunteers, and the public
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately safeguard sensitive and proprietary information
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays as operational needs require
  • Availability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including deployment to disaster-affected regions, as operational needs require. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport for international travel
  • Ability to make authorized purchases using a department purchasing card in accordance with organizational policy
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred
  • Forklift certification strongly preferred or required within ninety (90) days of employment
  • Demonstrated life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB's nonprofit Christian mission
