Job description

Operation Blessing – Virginia Beach, VA
Operation Blessing (OB) is looking for an experienced Driver/Warehouse Associate to ensure safe operation of assigned Operation Blessing (OB) box truck and/or OB tractor and trailer in compliance with the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), and OB company policy. This professional will provide effective shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehousing support to Operation Blessing’s local Distribution Center, and facilitate product distribution to local ministry partners. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to OB’s Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ’s name to meet physical and spiritual needs.

This position has an hourly rate of $18-$20.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems
  • Knowledge of and compliance with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
  • Skilled in MS Office, and industry standard inventory software applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish professional rapport with all levels of management, staff, and public
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and be an effective member of a team
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend and lift 50+ pounds on a consistent basis
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Valid “Class A” CDL Permit with CDL-A license within 6 months
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain
  • Demonstrated life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB’s nonprofit Christian mission
