Job description

ABOUT US
E-commerce got real-time data infrastructure decades ago. Physical stores still have not. RADAR is changing that.
RADAR is building the data infrastructure layer for the physical world, starting with retail. Our hardware-enabled SaaS platform uses proprietary overhead sensors, software, and AI-powered analytics to locate every product in a store, continuously, down to the fixture. We are deployed across 1,400+ stores with retailers including American Eagle Outfitters and Old Navy, processing tens of billions of real-world events every day, delivering 99%+ accuracy in complex, noisy environments - at fleet scale.
RADAR is one of the best-funded companies in retail technology, backed by a recent Series B financing at a $1 billion valuation. Inventory accuracy is only the beginning. We believe RADAR can become foundational infrastructure for the physical economy, powering new AI-driven commerce experiences across retail and beyond.
Join us if you want to work on a large, unsolved, technically challenging problem with an ambitious team building category-defining technology.
OUR VALUES
  • Mission-Driven: We're transforming retail with cutting-edge technology and building something that truly matters.
  • Collaborative Team: We thrive on curiosity, shared goals, and solving complex problems together.
  • High Impact: You'll make meaningful contributions from day one and help shape the future of our product and company.
  • Clear Communication: We value honesty, humility, and respectful dialogue-everyone's voice matters.
  • Balanced Lives: We work hard, but not at the expense of well-being. We respect time, boundaries, and life outside of work.
  • Diverse Perspectives: We believe better ideas come from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints.
  • Empathy-Driven Design: We build with deep respect for our end users, listening closely to their feedback and needs.

ABOUT THE JOB
RADAR is seeking a strategic and hands-on IT Manager to lead and scale our internal technology infrastructure. You will own IT operations that support our rapidly growing team-from device management and network security to vendor relationships and compliance. This is a critical role at a company building physical-world data infrastructure, where reliable, secure IT systems directly enable our mission.
Responsibilities:

  • Own security and compliance programs including SOC 2, device management policies, and incident response planning
  • Lead IT vendor selection, procurement, and contract management across hardware, software, and services
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to align IT systems and tooling with business needs
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards across the organization
  • Build, mentor, and grow a small IT team as the company scales
  • Oversee IT budgeting, asset tracking, and lifecycle management
ABOUT YOU
Required:
  • You have 5+ years of IT management or IT operations experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • You have deep experience with macOS and Windows endpoint management tools such as Jamf, Intune, or similar MDM platforms
  • You have strong knowledge of cloud identity and access management platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, or Azure AD
  • You have hands-on experience owning security and compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar
  • You have experience managing IT vendors, procurement processes, and contract negotiations
  • You are a clear and confident communicator who can translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders
  • You are highly organized, self-directed, and thrive in a fast-paced, scaling startup environment
Preferred:
  • You have experience in a hardware + SaaS or IoT company environment
  • You have experience managing network infrastructure including VLANs, VPNs, and enterprise Wi-Fi
  • You have familiarity with IT scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • You have experience implementing or managing a Zero Trust security model
WHAT YOU'LL DO
In your first 30 days, you will:
  • Learn RADAR's mission, technology stack, and core values
  • Complete onboarding and security compliance training
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing IT infrastructure, tooling, vendor contracts, and security posture
In your first 60 days, you will:
  • Identify and prioritize gaps in IT security, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Develop a 6-12 month roadmap for scaling IT systems to support company growth
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, and Operations
  • Take full ownership of critical IT vendor relationships and ongoing procurement cycles
In your first 90 days, you will:
  • Begin executing on your IT roadmap with clear, measurable milestones
  • Streamline IT procurement and vendor management processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Establish clear IT policies, runbooks, and escalation procedures across the organization
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate repetitive IT tasks and improve team productivity
