Basic Job Functions: In this role, you will be responsible for designing all aspects of our metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing. Your duties will include, but aren’t limited to: • Creative Design: Develop safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school. • Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language. • Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc. • Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in Illinois. • Resides within the continental United States, availability as followed: Minimum 8 consecutive hours Available from 9 am to 3 pm CST • Ability to travel to home division or job sites as needed.
