Role Description
Sanitation teammates thoroughly clean, sanitize and inspect product-contact equipment and the production environment to ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Sanitation teammates also perform Master Sanitation activities through the plant. This position plays a critical role in supporting the safety and quality of MUSH products.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols (including LOTO, wearing proper PPE and following all chemical handling requirements).
- Strictly adhere to all food safety and quality requirements (including following all GMP's), in accordance with BRC requirements.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with documented policies, procedures, SSOP's and work instructions
- Report all food safety and quality concerns, risks and non-conformances to MUSH Management immediately.
- Strictly follow all chemical handling, dilution and application guidelines to ensure safe and effective sanitation.
- Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing and inspection of all product-contact equipment, including mixers, tanks, fillers, conveyors and utensils using approved sanitation chemicals and according to established sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP's).
- Conduct post-cleaning inspections of equipment and environments using visual, ATP and other verification methods to ensure sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate sanitation records to support BRC and regulatory compliance.
- Work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining a high level of individual accountability.

Tactical Requirements:
- Food manufacturing experience: 1 year (Required)
- Sanitation experience: 1 year (Strongly preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Willingness to learn and take on tasks with quality and timeliness of work
- Ability to maintain discipline in repetitive tasks and communicate effectively with any concerns
- Highly organized, methodical, disciplined, and detail-oriented
- Self sufficient in looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of work
Physical and Work Related Requirements:
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Repetitive motion for long periods of time
- Bending and lifting up to 50 LB
- Ability to handle allergens including peanuts and treenuts
- Carrying, stooping, grasping, twisting, mopping, communicating with co-workers, sweeping
- Must be able to read or distinguish by color between cleaning agents
