Job Title: Overhead Crane Operator
Job Summary:
The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials within a warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining workflow efficiency while adhering to strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate overhead crane to move heavy materials, equipment, and products
  • Inspect crane equipment daily to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance
  • Load, unload, and transport materials to designated areas
  • Communicate with team members using hand signals or radios to coordinate lifts
  • Ensure proper rigging and secure loads before lifting
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved when required
  • Assist with general warehouse or production duties as needed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous overhead crane operating experience required
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment:
  • Industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Requires standing, lifting, and working at heights (depending on facility)
Preferred Skills:
  • Overhead crane certification
  • Experience in steel, automotive, or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of rigging techniques and load calculations
