Senior Manufacturing Planner
Aerospace Production | CMES
Renton, WA
$49.51 - $62.01/Hour

We are hiring a Senior Manufacturing Planner in Renton, WA, to support aerospace Production Engineering and Planning in a complex manufacturing environment. This role supports manufacturing planning, Bill of Materials (BOM), work instructions, production sequencing, engineering drawings, tooling, producibility, supplier integration, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES/CMES) while ensuring manufacturing and delivery requirements are achieved.
The Senior Manufacturing Planner will independently lead complex planning and compliance assignments, resolve systemic production issues, and translate engineering and manufacturing requirements into executable shop-floor plans. This position requires extensive manufacturing/production experience and the ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead processes for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials (BOM), work instructions, and illustrations that define and document as-built configuration.
  • Develop manufacturing concepts, plans, and strategies that support production and business objectives.
  • Prepare build analyses and cost estimate reports.
  • Lead integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data, and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
  • Participate in supplier source selection activities to ensure manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Develop complex tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Manage tooling throughout its lifecycle, from initial design through end-of-use disposition.
  • Lead investigations and resolution of complex or systemic manufacturing and production issues.
  • Lead producibility assessments of design concepts and support enterprise-level benchmarking to incorporate manufacturing best practices.
  • Develop complex work statements and sequence manufacturing events to support production schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Develop scheduling templates for use across planning and production organizations.
  • Draft, update, and review manufacturing processes and procedures to meet business and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Develop and document new manufacturing practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Provide production and shipside support to resolve manufacturing issues as needed.
  • Perform complex manufacturing planning assignments independently with minimal direction.

Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Associate degree in a related discipline and typically 6+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • 5+ years of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing planning and production processes in a shop-floor environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Common Manufacturing Execution System (CMES) or an equivalent Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Ability to provide shipside support and resolve production issues.
  • Familiarity with systems and test commodities and/or manufacturing processes.
