Job description

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the refinery.
- Perform visual inspection of completed work and recommend and approve repairs.
- Assist in the scheduling of activities related to inspection.
- Use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Properly use and complete customer and company job related forms and paperwork.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.
- Perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
- Deliver reports to clients.
- Work outdoors in a plant atmosphere.
- Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Wear required safety equipment.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Requirements:
- Possess the related API certification (510, 570, and/or 653) with at least one year of related experience.
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces.
- Must be able to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Must have sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively;
- Must have sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct investigations.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to perform routine office duties.
Preferred Requirements:
- Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel and be able to write detailed inspection reports.
- Valid Drivers License and may be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
