The Engineering Manager position oversees all engineering outputs during bidding and pre-construction, as well as supervises while in construction. Leads and manages the staff of engineers, drafters, and third-party consultants that design and produce engineered systems for ASAP. Reviews and signs and seal shop drawings and calculations for support of excavation systems (SOE), ground improvement, and foundation work. Summary
The Engineering Manager position oversees all engineering outputs during bidding and pre-construction, as well as supervises while in construction. Qualifications
- Professional engineer license from the state of Florida (PE)
- Minimum experience: 10 years (Preferably in geotechnical design, experience with the design of Sheet Piles, Beam & Lagging, Soil Anchors & Micropiles is highly coveted)
- Minimum education level: B.S. Civil Engineering
- Engineering software: DeepEX, Mathcad, and AutoCAD
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel throughout Florida for site visits and meeting clients when needed
Duties
- Review and produce signed and seal shop drawings and calculations (SOE, ground improvement, and foundation work)
- Lead and manage all staff and resources of the engineering department
- Develop schedule, prioritize, and distribute workload
- Develop department strategy and goals
- Develop value engineering ideas in bidding and pre-construction stage
- Perform site visits and monitor the performance of the designed systems
- Evaluate the yearly performance of the department
- Develop procedures and standards for quality control
- Meet with clients during bid stage and different phases of construction
- Assist the Operations when needed in the development of the construction logistics
- Participate in project transfer meetings
- Manage third-party consultants
