Every course depends on more than content. It depends on the actual box, code, or file reaching the student who's supposed to have it. That's the work behind this role: managing physical package orders and inventory issues on one side, and digital access codes, courseware setup, and system troubleshooting on the other, for Macmillan Learning's Operations team.
You'll be the person who catches an out-of-stock title before it becomes a missed deadline, gets a stuck access code moving again, and keeps Sales, Customer Service, and vendor partners in the loop along the way. As Macmillan Learning's product mix keeps shifting between print and digital, this role is built to shift with it.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage daily package work orders and partner with Customer Service, our Senior Inventory Manager, and Sales Representatives to resolve out-of-stock situations.
• Work directly with sales reps on backorders and cancelled orders - recommending and executing fixes, including releasing, cancelling, or substituting pack-on-demand orders.
• Keep access code requests moving through our JIRA queue, balancing the workload between approvers and code generators.
• Troubleshoot digital product issues across systems including Salesforce, our CMS, Klopotek, and Hybris, and help document new workflows as they're built.
• Run pricing and eBook availability audits twice a year (May and October) and after annual price increases.
• Distribute agency eBooks and metadata to partners around the world, and fulfill courseware requests across third-party platforms like Akademos, CEI, Follett, and VitalSource.

Required Qualifications:

• An associate's or bachelor's degree in business, operations, information systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in operations, digital asset management, customer support operations, publishing, or logistics.
• Comfort working across multiple digital systems and platforms (for example, ticketing tools like JIRA, CRM tools like Salesforce, or similar databases and spreadsheets).
• Sharp attention to detail - you'll handle metadata, system codes, inventory records, and catalog audits where accuracy matters.
• A problem-solving mindset for troubleshooting digital access issues, backorders, and fulfillment roadblocks.
• Comfort balancing shifting priorities across physical and digital work as our business evolves.
• Clear, professional communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendor partners.
• Experience managing data spreadsheets and performing detailed catalog or metadata audits.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with ticketing systems (like JIRA), CRM software (like Salesforce), or publishing/inventory databases.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $56,000/ year.
Physical Requirements: Requires periods of close concentration; must be able to multi-task; must be able to travel 50%; work overtime - more than 40 hours a week, as needed.
Good to Know
You'll work a standard schedule with occasional overtime. No travel is required, and a driver's license is not needed. A standard background check applies.
Work Location: This is a remote position with preference to those in the Austin, TX area. Remote work is NOT availabe for those in the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.
