While our name has changed, our commitment to our people, clients, and communities is stronger than ever.

At Egis, every project is an opportunity to create lasting impact. We collaborate with public and private clients to design and deliver innovative transportation, aviation, rail, transit, water, structural, environmental, and infrastructure solutions that connect communities and improve everyday life. Join a team where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is valued, and your work helps build a more sustainable future.

    The Impact You’ll Make

    • Planning and overseeing higher level natural resources field investigations, including coordinating field teams, managing logistics, and ensuring that sampling and data collection adhere to established health and safety protocols and quality standards.
    • Perform on-site natural resources field investigations and/or inspections and collect samples of soil, water, air, and biological materials to assess environmental conditions and identify potential environmental impacts.
    • Regularly collect and analyze environmental data to track trends and detect any changes or potential issues in various ecosystems, ensuring that environmental quality is maintained or improved.
    • Assist in the formulation and review of environmental policies, regulations, and standards to ensure they are effective and up-to-date, and contribute to regulatory compliance and enforcement efforts.
    • Manage and execute natural components of transportation and other engineering projects, such as wetland and stream impact minimization/mitigation, habitat restoration, or sustainability initiatives, ensuring they meet objectives, budgets, and timelines.
    • Write detailed technical reports, permitting packages, and documentation summarizing field findings, project outcomes, and compliance with environmental regulations, and present these findings to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
    • Evaluate the environmental impact of proposed transportation projects or activities, and assist in the development of NEPA/SEPA documents.

    The Expertise You’ll Bring

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field
    • 10-15+ years of experience working in the transportation industry in North Carolina with clients, stakeholder agencies, and the general public desired
    • Experience with environmental science, environmental permitting, and NEPA/SEPA experience desired
    • Proficient in GIS software, Microsoft and Adobe software, and understanding of Microstation or CADD software
    • Proficiency with technical writing, communication software, technology, health and safety protocols, and tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with a collaborative team
