Machine Operator

A food manufacturing company in Geneva, NY is hiring Machine Operators to support production, packaging, case, labeling, and Brite-to-Brite rework operations. These roles are hands-on production positions responsible for operating and monitoring equipment, verifying correct labels and packaging, making basic adjustments, removing damaged product when needed, keeping work areas clean, and supporting safe, accurate product flow.

This is a strong fit for someone with production, packaging, machine operation, warehouse, forklift, food manufacturing, quality-check, rework, or mechanical aptitude who can work in a fast-paced plant environment.

Openings: 3 total

  • 2 openings: Case/Label Machine Operator
  • 1 opening: Brite-to-Brite (B2B) Machine Operator

Work Setting: Onsite

Role Type: Direct hire

Shift / Schedule:

  • Case/Label Machine Operator: 2nd shift, 12-hour schedule, roughly 2:00 PM-2:00 AM.
  • B2B Machine Operator: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM.
  • Training: Monday-Friday training schedule may apply before moving into assigned shift.

Pay Rate:

  • B2B Machine Operator: Expected starting range is $19.00-$21.00/hr, with growth potential and pay reviews based on effort, quality, skill growth, and performance.
  • Case/Label Machine Operator: Most hires are expected around $19.00-$23.00/hr. Higher pay may be considered for candidates with standout machine operation experience, strong food packaging experience, or mechanic-level skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor case, label, packaging, production, or B2B rework equipment.
  • Verify that correct labels, cases, packaging materials, product codes, and product information are being used.
  • For Case/Label roles, monitor case and label equipment for jams, label issues, packaging defects, product flow problems, and machine concerns.
  • For B2B roles, support rework of damaged production, operate depalletizing/reconditioning equipment, remove damaged cans, and help ensure pallet/product accuracy.
  • Make basic machine adjustments when appropriate.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment as required.
  • Use small hand tools to support basic line and equipment needs.
  • Record product, pallet, ticket, or production information when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow safety, GMP, quality, PPE, and housekeeping expectations.
  • Communicate with leads, supervisors, quality, maintenance, warehouse, and production team members when issues come up.
  • Support other production, packaging, warehouse, rework, or plant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Production, machine operation, packaging, warehouse, forklift, food manufacturing, rework, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use small hand tools.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for long periods.
  • Comfort working in a food manufacturing or production plant environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Case/label, packaging, production-line, rework, depalletizing, warehouse, or machine operation experience.
  • Experience checking labels, product codes, pallet tickets, packaging materials, or product accuracy.
  • Forklift, pallet jack, material-handling, or warehouse experience.
  • Food manufacturing, beverage, packaging, or production-line experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude strong enough to notice equipment issues, make basic adjustments, and escalate problems quickly.
