Epic Medical Analyst

Our client is seeking an Epic Medical Analyst to support the implementation, optimization, maintenance, and ongoing support of Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) modules. This role partners closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to enhance patient care delivery, streamline workflows, and ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.

The Epic Medical Analyst serves as a subject matter expert for assigned Epic modules and is responsible for translating business and clinical requirements into scalable system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• System Configuration and Maintenance
  • Configure, build, and maintain assigned Epic modules to align with organizational workflows
  • Troubleshoot system issues and resolve technical defects in a timely manner
  • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve usability and reliability
  • Apply system updates, patches, and enhancements following proper change management protocols
• Business Analysis and Workflow Optimization
  • Analyze current clinical and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Gather business requirements from clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Design and implement Epic-based solutions that improve care delivery and operational efficiency
  • Ensure system design supports regulatory compliance and patient safety standards
• User Support and Training
  • Serve as primary support contact for assigned Epic modules
  • Provide end-user training and education on system functionality and workflow best practices
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and user documentation
  • Respond to user inquiries and provide ongoing system guidance
• Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Develop and execute test plans for system builds, enhancements, and upgrades
  • Participate in integrated testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and regression testing
  • Ensure system changes meet quality standards before production deployment
• Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and workflow designs
  • Utilize Epic reporting tools to extract and analyze data for operational and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support leadership decision-making through accurate reporting and system insights
• Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with clinical, revenue cycle, IT, and administrative teams to ensure system alignment with business objectives
  • Participate in project teams for new implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and data accuracy

Required Qualifications

• Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, Health Information Management, or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred
• Experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience supporting the build and/or maintenance of Epic modules required
  • Two or more years of relevant Epic experience preferred
• Certification
  • Epic Certification in relevant modules (e.g., EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Clinical Documentation, or other assigned modules) required
• Technical and Industry Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Epic applications
  • Knowledge of healthcare data privacy regulations including HIPAA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
