Job description

What makes this role important at Ipsos?

In this role, you will be responsible for managing several Food & Beverage clients (e.g., CPG, Foodservice, Retailers, etc.) from two of the largest syndicated consumption tracking studies in Canada. You'll uphold client servicing excellence, contribute to growing our business, as well as mentor and coach a small team of junior researchers.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Oversee and support several syndicated Food & Beverage clients in Canada in terms of revenue maintenance/growth, analytical rigor and storytelling
  • Manage end-to-end reporting on a range of small to large analyses by understanding client preferences for reporting: 
    • Sets the vision with a structured plan/approach as to how report will focus on answering specific client objectives and supports junior team on executing vision
    • Review and provide feedback on draft reports, getting to near completion before final VP sign off
  • Independently write proposals, with a goal of growing our business and presence
  • Mentor and trains junior team members on best practices and career growth on an ongoing basis
  • CLIENT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Acts as primary account lead to multiple clients, overseeing more junior members. Handles more complex conversations/communications around project design, analysis, and unexpected challenges. Works to ensure business retention and uncover incremental revenue generation opportunities. Provides coaching and guidance to more junior team members on their own client interactions.
  • STUDY LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Use cross tabulation to sort and analyze data findings and results. Use large datasets and databases of related syndicated research data. Leads/co-leads final report writing elements, strategic client guidance and presentation of findings. 
  • EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES 
    • Act as manager to one or more Account Managers/Senior Account Managers. Includes overseeing training schedule, day-to-day guidance and supervision, and providing feedback (both ongoing and during annual review and goal setting).
  • STRATEGIC THINKING EXPECTATIONS
    • Acts as strategic leader for project team and (in some cases) for client account team overall. Thinks through implications of actions, identifies opportunities and risks, and acts accordingly, balances providing what the client needs with the optimal outcome for Ipsos.

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • Strong client servicing skills
  • Knowledge of the Food & Beverage sector heavily desired
  • Confidence in a client-facing role, which includes running meetings independently in addition to presentation skills (both in-person and virtual)
  • Superior organizational skills, including ability to manage and delegate work effectively, attention to detail & demonstrated commitment to accuracy and completeness of information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills are necessary
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Experience with using hierarchical or multi-level databases heavily desired
  • Knowledge of Infotools Harmoni a strong plus
  • Balance of attention to detail with view to bigger picture and overall objectives of each task
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects, including managing workload of direct reports
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience in mentoring and/or managing others - ability to coach, guide and support direct reports
  • Ability to think creatively about how to align the appropriate project resources, whether inside or outside of the immediate project team
  • Strong aptitude for research consulting with highly developed analytic skills
  • Ability to think strategically in terms of clients' business, as well as opportunities for Ipsos to grow its business
  • Business development and commercial acumen mindset to upsell or drive incremental growth
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and possess a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines
  • Minimum of 7 years of research experience; ideally at least 5 years on the supplier side

In accordance with Ontario & British Columbia law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $95,000 - $100,000 CAD. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discrimatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
