Job description

Indotronix is seeking an :Payload Systems Design Engineer Level 3
Location:North Charleston, SC
Shifts: 1st shift roughly 8am-3pm

Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace
Interview Information: TeamsKey Responsibilities
  • Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and modify payload system and component designs using 3D CAD tools.
  • Support testing, validation, and verification activities to ensure systems meet requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to support design, testing, production, and performance improvement activities.
  • Provide engineering support for production floor activities, including first-of and complex builds.
  • Assist in developing new design methodologies, processes, and tools to improve engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Support research and evaluation of emerging technologies for future product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, certification requirements, and program schedules.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D CAD modeling tools such as Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Creo/Pro-E, SketchUp, 3DX, or similar.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering and production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, aircraft design, and engineering release processes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace certification requirements including FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA regulations.
  • Experience supporting aircraft interiors, payload systems, or structural design programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required.
