    Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000 

    Are you a procurement professional who enjoys balancing strategy with execution while building strong supplier partnerships and using data to drive smarter business decisions? Archer Meat Snacks, one of the fastest-growing brands in the Natural and Specialty Channel, is seeking a Procurement Buyer Planner, Packaging to support the continued growth of our manufacturing and supply chain operations.

    Reporting to the Procurement Manager, Packaging, this highly collaborative role will serve as a key partner across Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance. You'll play a critical role in ensuring packaging materials are available to support production while driving supplier performance, inventory optimization, commercialization projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    We're looking for an analytical and detail-oriented procurement professional who enjoys solving supply chain challenges, building supplier relationships, and leveraging data to improve operational performance. This role offers the opportunity to influence sourcing strategies, improve inventory health, support new product commercialization, and contribute to the continued growth of Archer's manufacturing network.

    What You'll Own & Impact

    Procurement & Supplier Management

    • Manage supplier relationships across assigned packaging categories while ensuring exceptional service, quality, and delivery performance.
    • Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders while maintaining accurate pricing, lead times, and supplier information within ERP systems.
    • Support supplier negotiations, quarterly business reviews, sourcing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Identify alternate suppliers, dual-sourcing opportunities, and supply continuity strategies that strengthen Archer's packaging network.

    Supply Chain Planning & Inventory Management

    • Partner closely with Operations, Planning, and Manufacturing to ensure packaging materials support production requirements.
    • Develop inventory strategies that balance customer service, working capital, and inventory health.
    • Coordinate packaging transitions, artwork revisions, commercialization projects, and inventory depletion plans.
    • Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify shortages, excess inventory, and supply chain risks.

    Analytics & Business Performance

    • Analyze supplier performance, inventory health, lead times, fill rates, and procurement KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that provide meaningful procurement insights.
    • Perform root cause analysis on supplier performance issues while recommending corrective actions.
    • Identify cost savings opportunities through data analysis, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization

    • Support supplier qualification, onboarding, benchmarking, and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
    • Evaluate supplier capabilities while recommending sourcing strategies that reduce risk and improve long-term performance.
    • Support cost savings initiatives through supplier negotiations, market analysis, and sourcing optimization.
    • Monitor commodity trends, supplier risks, and market conditions that may impact Archer's supply chain.

    Cross-Functional Business Partnership

    • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Finance to support strategic business initiatives.
    • Provide procurement insights that improve operational and financial decision-making.
    • Support commercialization activities for new product launches, retailer initiatives, promotional packaging, and packaging redesigns.
    • Serve as a trusted business partner focused on delivering operational excellence and supply chain reliability.

    Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

    • Recommend process improvements that increase procurement efficiency, reporting accuracy, and supplier performance.
    • Maintain accurate procurement master data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and supplier records.
    • Support reporting automation and analytical improvements that strengthen procurement visibility.
    • Help establish best practices that improve procurement execution and support Archer's continued growth.

    What Sets You Apart

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
    • 4–7 years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), food manufacturing, or related industries.
    • Experience purchasing packaging materials within a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Strong understanding of supplier management, procurement analytics, inventory planning, and sourcing strategies.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
    • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and continuously evolving environment.
