    Job description

    Structural Engineer

    Location: Herndon, VA
    Job Type: Full-Time
    Work Arrangement: On-Site Initially | Hybrid Schedule Available After Training


    Are you a Structural Engineer looking to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where you can expand your technical expertise and advance your career?


    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to work alongside architects, MEP engineers, and project managers on a variety of commercial, institutional, and building projects from design through construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants hands-on project experience, mentorship, and long-term career growth.


    What You'll Do

    As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will contribute to the design and coordination of building systems while working closely with multiple disciplines.


    Responsibilities

    • Design structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel.
    • Prepare construction documents using AutoCAD (Revit experience preferred).
    • Assist in the preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
    • Coordinate structural designs with architects, MEP engineers, and project teams.
    • Participate in occasional site visits and field observations as required.
    • Learn and apply cold-formed steel framing design principles and industry standards.
    • Support projects through planning, design, and construction phases.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis.
    • Minimum 4 years of structural design experience.
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
    • Experience preparing structural construction documents.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
    • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.


    Preferred

    • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
    • Experience with cold-formed steel framing design.
    • Revit experience.
    • Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
