Location - Remote role

Duration - 7 months
Shifts available: 8am - 5pm (Mon-Fri)
Job description:
Overview: Looking for a skilled HR Generalist to fill in for a team member who is taking on a bubble assignment. This individual will provide support for our employees and supervisors as part of a larger HR team aligned to one or more of our business units on an interim basis.
This role will report to the HR Business Partner and will support the client group in several HR functional and administrative areas including effective employee relations via day-to-day HR related advice and support, assisting employees with their individual HR needs, employment law compliance, HR data maintenance and reporting while building trust.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Arrange HR services and work as a trusted liaison for employees.
Serve as the primary point of contact for routine employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
Facilitate objective, constructive conversations between employees or managers to resolve workplace friction early.
Assist managers with drafting performance improvement plans (PIPs) and documenting disciplinary actions accurately.
Act as the frontline contact for dispersed employees during structural changes, delivering clear messaging to minimize anxiety and speculation.
Coach field managers on navigating team friction, managing low morale, and addressing performance issues during transitions.
Offer hiring and offboarding guidance to the business with an understanding of multi-state employment laws.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management
of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Partner with HR Leadership/Legal as needed/required.
Work with our Employee Data employee file and record conservation/retention in
electronic and/or paper form.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience; Generalist experience ideal
Strong computer skills including working with enterprise level software and MS products
(S)PHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
Bachelor's degree in HR/Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
Understanding of foundational HR including confidentiality, local, state & federal law, HR policy and procedures
Working knowledge of employment/labor laws. Experience operating in California HR environment preferred.
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)
Previous HRIS experience (UKG is a plus)
Ability to navigate conflict and change
Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach
Good judgment and the ability to ask for help when needed
The ability to work with varying, and diverse personalities
