  • SUMMARY

    Havtech is a leader in state-of-the-art innovative HVAC and has an opportunity for an experienced technicians to work on these cutting edge specialized technologies, such as VRV/VRF.

    We are searching for successful Journeymen HVAC Service Technicians to perform all work in the service and maintenance field on all major types of HVAC equipment with a specific focus on rooftop equipment, both package units and split DX, as well as VRV/ VRF systems.

    Responsible for retrofit and repair of environmental-comfort systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts in the Western PA Market.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

    • Represents the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
    • Has strong background in running special projects
    • Projects a positive, friendly and professional image on behalf of the organization.
    • Responsible for servicing all products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Uses a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
    • Willing to be trained and gain proper working knowledge of the manufacturer’s service tools for VRV/ VRF equipment.
    • Willing to be trained and perform proper Factory Authorized start-up and service of VRV/ VRF equipment, following all manufacturers’ guidelines.
    • Willing to be trained and become proficient in the commissioning and servicing of VRV/ VRF manufacturer’s control systems and interfaces.
    • Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer’s location.
    • Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
    • Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
    • Inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition.
    • Maintains literature, supplies, service manuals and related service bulletins.
    • Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and complete repairs and maintenance service.
    • Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of ware. Notifies customer and/or Project Manager of findings.
    • Legibly documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
    • Provides re-training and follow-up training at customer site.
    • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job, mission and values of the company.
    • Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
    • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.
    • Keep and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
    • Operate all company owned equipment safely and responsibly.
    • Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
    • Turns in all required paperwork and reports daily.
    • Keeps current on all Havtech Manufacturer’s products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair.
    • Read and interpret product specifications and experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs.
    • Provides technical support to customers.
    • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.
    • Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS/ CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must possess computer skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
    • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record for state of residence.
    • EPA Certification.
    • HVAC Journeyman license requirement: applicable license for jurisdiction of work.
    • Additional license; Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc. preferred.
    • Applicant must be a current member or be able to successfully join UA Local 449.
