Job description

This full-time contract position is based in the El Monte area, serving a Specialized Day Class (SDC) caseload. What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching credential (required)
  • Demonstrated experience working within a school setting, preferably in SDC or similar classrooms
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, parents, and school staff
  • Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction that meets the unique needs of each student in the SDC program
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Track and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Partner with general education teachers and support staff to promote success and inclusion
  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages student growth and participation
