Gilbane is seeking a VDC Manager to lead VDC Engineers on constructability and coordination tasks on a project through use of technology and processes. May oversee one large complex project, or multiple smaller projects to support the enterprise initiatives. This role will sit primarily in the office but may travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

  • Supports the Senior VDC Manager and VDC Director in the creation of regional VDC strategic planning, training, software implementation, and Business Unit (BU) strategic plans and sales goals
  • Supports the implementation of Baseline and Enterprise VDC standards
  • Develops VDC Baseline project specific Building Information Modeling (BIM) Standards and Specifications (BS&S) and BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
  • Develops VDC project coordination schedules and reviews with the Senior VDC Manager and/or VDC Director; integrates project construction and coordination schedules and reviews with the project team
  • Independently leads is responsible for simultaneous VDC tasks and deliverables on project(s)
  • Develops project approach, scope and budget, and reviews with Senior VDC Manager and/or Director; reviews and aligns with Project Executive and Controller
  • Ensures that projects are staffed with appropriate VDC resources, managing and forecasting needs pro-actively with Senior VDC Manager and/or VDC Director
  • Monitors quality and execution of project deliverables and processes; develops strategies to overcome challenges
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more areas and leads SME sub-peer group at National level. Builds and manages internal and external relationships with all project stakeholders to facilitate project success
  • Creates content for and/or participates in Business Development (BD), pursuits, and client interviews.
  • Contributes towards national VDC initiatives; fosters communication and collaboration across regions; participates in VDC National Peer Group
  • Investigates and reviews new and emerging technology; participates in pilot projects to test new software/processes
  • Facilitates and supports team communication and project accountability; escalates and reports issues to upper management as needed
  • May attend or present at industry events
  • Leads or oversees 4-8 various VDC deliverables on multiple projects
  • Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
  • Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards

  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field
  • 5-7 years of VDC Coordination experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For (Columbus, OH) this ranges from $108,000-$137,500 plus benefits and retirement program.
