Due to ongoing defense and aerospace manufacturing programs, General Tool Company continues to expand its machining capacity. This role is critical to producing complex, precision components used in some of the country’s most important national-security projects — with an uncompromising focus on quality, accuracy, and reliability.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines
  • Execute work from manufacturing plans, blueprints, and routed instructions
  • Configure workholding setups (vises, angle plates, rotary tables, V-blocks, super spacers)
  • Perform milling, drilling, tapping, and reaming operations on precision parts
  • Load, run, and edit CNC programs — including minor G-code/M-code changes at the machine
  • Tram machine heads and verify alignment
  • Conduct in-process inspection using precision measurement tools
  • Deburr finished components and complete production documentation
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100 / ISO aerospace and defense standards

Machines, Controls & Inspection Tools

You’ll work with equipment such as:

Machines: Multi-axis CNC mills and lathes (3-axis to 5-axis)
Controls: Fanuc-type G-code environments (machine-level editing required)
Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, thread gauges

Materials You’ll Work With

  • Alloy and stainless steels

What We’re Looking ForRequired

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience (or equivalent vocational training)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints
  • Ability to amend G-code/M-code at the machine
  • Strong shop math skills (geometry, fractions, decimals)
  • Mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-axis machining
  • Setup experience on mills and/or lathes
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing
