Built on a foundation of integrity, quality, and customer-focused service, Frontier is committed to helping growers succeed while being responsible stewards of the communities we serve.

As a Frontier Agronomy Advisor Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the agronomy business while working alongside experienced Ag Advisors and industry professionals. This internship is designed to provide practical field experience, exposure to cutting-edge agricultural technology, and valuable customer-facing opportunities that will prepare you for a successful career in agriculture.

What You'll Do

As an Agronomy Advisor Intern, you will support Frontier's Agronomy team through a variety of field, operational, and customer service activities. Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborating with local Frontier Ag Advisors on agronomic projects and sales initiatives.
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of fertilizer, crop protection products, and seed to customers.
  • Learning seed treatment processes, product handling procedures, and seed facility operations.
  • Conducting crop scouting activities, including weed, insect, and disease identification.
  • Collecting tissue and soil samples and assisting with agronomic data collection.
  • Gaining experience in field application processes and supporting aerial application operations during fungicide season.
  • Building customer relationships by assisting with grower meetings, Answer Plot events, and field demonstrations.
  • Supporting on-farm research trials and helping growers implement agronomic recommendations.
  • Learning Frontier's proprietary Ultimate Acre System, a comprehensive farm management approach that integrates all Frontier business units to maximize grower success.
  • Developing an understanding of cooperative operations and how Frontier's business units work together to serve customers.

Preferred Education & Interests

  • Pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Systems Technology, or a related agricultural field.
  • Strong interest in agronomy, crop production, and modern agricultural practices.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately collect and document information.
  • Willingness to learn about the cooperative system and Frontier's diverse business operations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout Frontier's service territory.
  • Ability and willingness to work both in office and outdoor agricultural environments.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on agronomy and crop management experience.
  • Exposure to precision agriculture technology and industry-leading practices.
  • Opportunities to build professional relationships with growers and agronomy professionals.
  • Experience working within a progressive agricultural cooperative.
  • A deeper understanding of agronomic sales, research, operations, and customer service.
